Kayaking posts:
Tried and tested waterways:
  • The New River Gorge, Fayetteville, WV  (My Review and Pictures)
  • Blue Springs, Orange City, Florida - Kayaking with Manatees!  (My Review and Pictures)
  • Aucilla River, Florida Panhandle  (Review coming soon!)
  • The Dora Canal, Lake County, Florida -- our home paddling location
  • Lake Dora, Lake County, Florida  (great place to kayak, stop to eat at a lakeside restaurant, and kayak back)
  • Lake Eustis, Lake County, Florida (stop by Buzzard Beach Bar for lakeside eating and beverages!)
  • Rainbow River (KP Hole Park launch), Marion County, Florida  (beautiful, with a gentle current and crystal clear water)  For this expedition, we found Aquatic Wilderness Adventures in Dunellon and they shuttled us to KP Hole Park for $7 each- minimum two people. We then had to pay $5 entrance to the park and then we kayaked back. It was quite convenient. You can find them here and you can rent kayaks or tubes as well.   (Blog coming soon with pictures)

Wish List:
  • Nantahala River, Tennessee/Georgia
  • Little Pigeon River, Tennessee  (we've rafted)
  • Blue Springs or DeLeon Springs to see manatees
  • Alafia River, Southwest Florida

  1. Hey April, discovered your blog when doing research on potential relocation areas from our current spot in Pennsylvania. My wife and I may have some good opportunities in Florida, and the most recent interview is happening in Orlando, so I used your reviews of Little Econ as reference. Interested to hear about Soldier Creek.
